Associate Professor Natalie Brown BSc (Hons) Dip Ed, PhD, FSEDA is the Director of Academic Quality and the Tasmanian Institute of Learning and Teaching at the University of Tasmania, Australia. Her role encompasses oversight of academic quality, with a particular focus on the course design, approval, monitoring and review cycle; policy, strategy, professional development, recognition and reward in learning and teaching; and promotion of Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Natalie led the writing and implementation of the Technology Enhanced Learning and Teaching (TELT) White Paper at the University, encompassing the adoption of the UTAS Blended Learning Model and the University's strategy on Open Educational Practice. More recently she was a member of the UTAS Curriculum Renewal Group, and has a key role in the implementation of the renewed curriculum. She is an active supervisor of PhD students in the area of Higher Education Learning and Teaching and publishes in the area of higher education learning and teaching, open education, professional learning and teacher education. Natalie was the recipient of a National Teaching Excellence Award in 2013 and a National citation for outstanding contribution to student learning in 2010.
